Lesbos: minor migrants in Pagani on hunger strike - 3rd day

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Minors are not supposed to be imprisoned, even by the law. During the last days dozens of them were released, under the pressure of everyday mobilisations outside the detention center.
Migrants are still coming though and the authorities practices haven't changed. 47 uncompanied minor migrants, mainly from Afganistan but also from Somalia and Palestine, are since the 1st of September on hunger strike. 4 of them don't drink water as well. Water is not drinkable anyways - "if you drink this water you will never want to drink water again" one said to us. Some minors are been kept for more than 40 days.
This morning we made a solidarity action outside the prison and we talked with one of the imprisoned migrants.
